Common Questions

 
 
Who is allowed to use the Beach, Park, and Piers?  Only Members, Household Family Members and Guests as defined in the Constitution and By-Laws and can be found under the “About Us” tab or by clicking here.  
 
Guests visiting the Park or Piers without their host member or household family member must each have a guest pass.  If eight (8) or more guests are visiting the Park or Piers, they must be accompanied by the member or household family member.
 
What are Park hours?  There is an 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Park and Piers curfew for all children 17-years old and younger, unless they are accompanied by an adult.  Anyone using these facilities during these hours must hold the noise level down in respect to the adjacent homeowners’ rights.
 
Is smoking allowed in the Park?  Smoking is allowed in the Park, but members should be considerate to other persons nearby.  Smoking is not allowed on the Swimming Pier, Diving Pier and Boat Pier.  
 
What are the rules for parking at the Park?  Parking privileges on Park Drive, in front of the Park, are limited to use only when the member, household family member, guest or authorized renter is using the Park.  All motor vehicles parked in the area in front of the Park will be required to display the LGBA parking placard, hung from the rearview mirror.  All golf carts parked in the area in front of the Park will be required to display the LGBA parking sticker affixed to the front of the cart.  Overnight parking is NOT allowed.  Parking is not allowed on the south side of Park Drive opposite the Park.  Cars must be parked diagonally facing the center walkway to the Park.
 
Contact the Communication Director via the “Contact Us” tab to request a replacement LGBA parking placard.  Contact the Community Coordinator Director via the “Contact Us” tab to request a LGBA parking sticker for a golf cart. 
 
Can I launch my kayak at the Park?  Yes, kayaks (excluding kayaks in shore spaces) must be launched in the kayak launching area on the west side of the beach.  Kayaks cannot be left on the beach and must be returned to the assigned kayak rack or shore space or removed from the park after use.  There is no overnight storage of kayaks in the Park unless they are stored in an assigned kayak rack or shore space. 
 
How do I get a boat slip or shore space? All boat slips, PWC spots, shore spaces and kayak spots are filled at this time.  Member’s with a home in the subdivision can request to be added to a waiting list for each type of spot.  The waiting lists are used when spaces become available, either for assignment or sublet.   Contact the Piers/Shore Space Director via the “Contact Us” tab to be added to the waiting lists or to request more information 
 
Is it okay to fish from the LGBA Piers?  Fishing is permitted from the Boat Pier at any time except during the months of July and August when it is restricted to the night hours between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.  Persons fishing from the Boat Pier must yield right of way to boats leaving, entering, loading or unloading.  All casting must be done with extreme care so that hooks may not strike anyone nearby.  Boats not owned by the person fishing should not be used.  Fishing is NOT be permitted from the Swim Pier.  Fishing is also allowed at the Hillside Road Public Pier. 
 
Who can operate a golf cart on subdivision roads?  Golf cart operators must have a license or permit to operate a motor vehicle.  All State of Wisconsin driving rules that apply to operating an automobile will also apply to operating a golf cart in the Subdivision.  All occupants must be accommodated in seats when the golf cart is in operation.  Golf cart occupancy is limited to the number of persons specified by the manufacturer.  Motorized vehicles are not allowed in the Park, except for mobility scooters, motorized wheel chairs and vehicles required for Park and Pier maintenance.
 
Is it okay for children to ride on motorized toys on subdivision streets?  Care should be exercised when operating any motorized vehicles on LGBA roads.  An adult should accompany any child riding on a motorized toy on subdivision streets, which should only be used during daylight hours.  These vehicles are not allowed in the Park.  
 
What are the rules for parking on subdivision roads?  Parking on subdivision roads is only allowed on the unpaved portion of the road right of way and on any paved portion of the road right of way, adjacent to the normal width of the road pavement, that is intended for parking.  Motor vehicles must be parked to allow free passage of vehicles, including emergency vehicles and snow plows.  Parking is not allowed in front of mail boxes and must not interfere with mail delivery. Parking is not allowed in front of another member’s property unless the property owner gives permission in advance.  Parking on subdivision property is only allowed when the member property is occupied and being used.
  
Lost and Found – Missing an item you left at the beach? These items are placed on the bench by the bulletin board for a day or so and then are taken to the Communication Director’s garage for safe keeping.  Photos of lost items are posted on the bulletin board. 
 
Am I allowed to rent out my house?   The Constitution and By-Laws do not allow the rental of subdivision property except for three property owners whose improved lots were primarily used for rental purposes prior to August 19, 1995.  Authorized renters and their household families shall each have a guest pass in their possession when visiting in the Park or the Piers.  
 
Do I need approval to remodel or rebuild my home? Architectural approval by the LGBA Board of Directors is no longer required; however, the property owner must contact the Board of Directors before construction begins. A $3,500 Construction Damage Deposit is required for major construction which includes the demolition and/or construction of a new residence or accessory structure or any additions or alterations to an existing residence or accessory structure that require a Walworth County Zoning Permit.  Additional information can be found in the General Rules and Regulations section at the end of the Constitution and By-Laws document under the “About Us” tab or from the Roads/Trees/Signs Director via “Contact Us” tab. 
 
A note to Realtors and/or prospective buyers – Our association’s by-laws do not allow a corporation, business, or multiple unrelated families to own a property in our subdivision.  For more information – contact the President via Contact Us.
